DIY floral pancake wreath

A flipping great way to present your pancakes

If you're giving anything up for lent, don't let it be flowers!!  And what better way to celebrate Pancake Tuesday in style, than by topping your delicious pancakes with this magnificant floral wreath?

Yes, that’s right – food and flowers are the star of the show with this beautifully simple idea from the Proper blog.

Make a huge stack of fluffy, American-style pancakes, drizzle with maple syrup (...or lemon and sugar... or nutella!) and adorn with a pretty flower-and-foliage wreath. Place it in the centre of the table, allow it to be admired for a few moments and then let your hungry guests (or just you!) tuck in.

What you’ll need:

  • Assorted flowers & greenery
  • Floral wire
  • Floral shears
  • A stack of pancakes

The seasonal touch…

TIP: Choose seasonal spring blooms, like the delicate pink ranunculusroses and white fringed-tulips seen here.

Make sure you rinse and dry the flowers before using them on your food, and do not eat the flowers — these are for decorative purposes only.
