DIY: Tropical orange hibiscus lip balm

Pucker up and treat your kisser to a taste of the tropics

No handbag is complete without a pot of lip balm – especially in the summer holidays when you’re trying to avoid a sun-parched pout. But finding the perfect balm – one that keeps your lips super-soft and supple and tastes great – can be tricky.

But don’t worry – your quest is over. This DIY tropical orange hibiscus lip balm from Woods of Bell Trees is the perfect not-too-greasy, not-too-sticky consistency – and packed with the tropical flowers and flavours of hibiscus, orange and coconut, it’s guaranteed to transport you to palm-fringed, white, sandy beaches in an instant (even when you’re stuck in the office on a grey Monday morning).

What you’ll need…

Equipment:

  • Hand blender
  • Double boiler

Ingredients:

  • Tins (recycled pocket mint tins are ideal)
  • 1/2 Cup beeswax (pastilles are easier to work with and melt faster)
  • 3.5 tbsp Coconut oil
  • 2 tsp Dried hibiscus (or hibiscus tea if you can’t get your hands on dried hibiscus)
  • 20 Drops orange essential oil
