 ‘(Red) Rose’ could be a synonym for ‘love’. This romantic flower is centuries old and through the years has developed a rich legacy of myths and legends. These stories are all related to love, read further:

Cupid

Nectar was the drink of the gods. When Cupid, the son of Venus (the Roman goddess of love), brought nectar to the gods, he spilled some of it. The first rose is said to have been created on this spot.

Flower goddess Chloris

There is also the myth about Chloris, the Greek goddess of the flower world, spring and nature. Her love Zephyrus, god of the west wind, is meant to have given her the flower world and in some myths she then created the rose.

Aphrodite’s love

Or did the rose emerge out of the death of Adonis? He was the most beautiful boyfriend of Aphrodite (the Greek goddess of love, beauty and fertility). According to this myth, since then the rose has been a symbol of endless love.
