What you'll need

  • A selection of small bouquets of fresh lilies
  • Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Clothespins
  • Nails
  • Hammer

How to make the lily decoration

  1. Carefully choose an open wall in your home where you have the space to display the draped lilies

  2. Mark off even spaces along your wall and hammer in as many nails as you’d like (make sure they are high enough to allow for the lilies to drape down)

  3. Once you’ve placed all of your nails in the wall, cut approximately a metre of ribbon per lily bouquet

  4. Carefully cut each lily with a sharp knife at a 45 degree angle at the bottom of the stem so they are all similar lengths

  5. Tie your bouquet very near the lily petals with one end of the ribbon, leaving plenty of excess ribbon to hang the lilies

  6. Take your clothespin and clamp the ribbon to the nail

  7. Adjust each bouquet so the ribbons and bouquets are facing forward
