DIY: DESSERT BOWL WITH FLOWERS

Double cool

To end the evening in style, to absolutely smash it on Instagram, or just because you feel like it: creating this ice bowl is cool in both senses of the word. It will keep your desserts cold for longer, and make a stunning impression.

YOU WILL NEED

HOW TO MAKE IT

Step 1. Decide on the required size for your ice bowl. Get a bowl that matches it, partly fill it with water and evenly distribute the edible flowers. Get a second bowl and fill it with water until the water in the first bowl starts to rise between the two bowls. The water-filled space between the two bowls will become your ice bowl. Place in the freezer and wait until it is completely frozen.

Step 2. When the bowl is ready, you can perfect it if necessary by sanding off uneven patches with a clean scourer.

Step 3. Place the ice bowl on a plate or other base that can catch melting water, and fill the bowl with scoops of sorbet and frozen fruit. Add a couple of spoons, and you’re all set for a sweet treat!

*One more thing: never tuck in to just any old (cut) flower or plant; only use edible flowers from specialist suppliers that have been grown for human consumption.
