Recipe: 2 vegan treats from roses

Desserts that are green finger-licking good

Are you mad about pudding? So are we. Luckily not all desserts need to be bad for you. These two vegan sweet puddings - or heavenly snacks - are as healthy as you like. The delicious flavour and flirty look come from the fantastic rose

Coconut ice cream with rose snippets and cardamom crumble

This ice-cold dessert won’t have a chance to melt! Very few things are better than home-made ice cream. Particularly not when it’s home-made coconut ice cream with snippets of dried rose petal*. To make it even tastier, sprinkle over a cardamom crumble made with rolled oats. Is your mouth watering yet?

Coconut and raspberry bar with dried rose petals

A delicious treat after the meal, but just as good before or during! These sturdy bites are a tasty concoction of coconut, raspberry, plain chocolate and dried rose petals*. The great thing about bars is that they’re easy to carry with you. For a sweet treat out and about, or as a surprise for your bestie. And the recipe is much easier than you’d think!

Tasty roses

In addition to being exceptionally easy on the eye, the rose is also a very popular ingredient in the kitchen. We previously wrote about candied rose petals, romantic rose punch and our twist on rocky road. We can’t get enough of roses!

*One more thing: never tuck in to just any old (cut) flower or plant; only use edible flowers from specialist suppliers that have been grown for human consumption.
