Exposé #16: Putnam & Putnam

Edition #16 transports you to Brooklyn, New York, to meet Putnam & Putnam

We’re proud to present Exposé, a series of portraits in which we introduce you to remarkable trendsetters who are involved with flowers and or plants. Edition #16 transports you to Brooklyn, New York, to meet Putnam & Putnam, the business run by flower arrangers Darroch and Michael (Mike) Putnam.

The duo, who are married as well as being professional partners, are known for their romantic floral installations with a hint of vintage in which roses in powdery shades play a leading role. You will encounter these installations at fashion shows, in magazines like Harpers Bazaar and also at special weddings.

Design, photography, flowers

It was early in 2014. Mike spent a lot of time sitting behind a desk as an interior designer. Too much time, he thought. He therefore increasingly started going to the flower market at the weekend in order to ‘mess around’ at home with his new discoveries. Darroch, who was working as a photographer, saw his husband’s remarkable creations, was impressed and captured them on camera. An Instagram account followed with more and more followers and ultimately requests to decorate parties and weddings. Putnam & Putnam was born. Our interview with the men tells you all about their work, their success, their vision and their inspiration.
