EXPOSÉ #23: Alice Auboiron x Issey Miyake

Nature and perfume come together in a surprising way

We’re proud to present Exposé, a series of portraits in which we introduce you to remarkable trendsetters who are involved with flowers and/or plants. In edition #23 we’re delighted to introduce you to Alice Auboiron: an idiosyncratic artist who uses flowers, plants and other greenery to produce gorgeous creations for clients including Issey Miyake.

For this Exposé we talked to Alice about her love for hand-crafting, nature as her biggest source of inspiration but particularly about her special collaboration with the Japanese designer Issey Miyake, for whom Alice designed the Christmas packaging for the well-known perfume L’eau d’Issey.

VERSATILE LADY

Alice Auboiron’s work cannot be captured in a single word. It ranges from extravagant to serene, from colourful to monotone. Whichever style Alice chooses, she always manages to combine flowers and plants in an unusual way to produce a harmonious and stimulating creation. That was noticed by famous designer Issey Miyake, prompting him to ask Alice to design the packaging for his 2018 summer and Christmas perfume. We talked to Alice about the creative quest for the right design for Issey Myiake, but also interviewed her at length about her love for hand-crafting and nature.
