White amaryllis perfume of Dolce&Gabbana

Do you already know the perfume Dolce?

The white amaryllis as you know it is supposedly non-perfumed but Dolce&Gabbana found a variety in the South African fynbos which does have a perfume. Curious how that smells?

White amaryllis in Dolce

Perhaps you have the white amaryllis in a vase at the moment. Try to smell it. No perfume? That’s correct. There is a variety however which does have a perfume and for the first time this flower has been used in a perfume: Dolce of Dolce&Gabbana. The rich perfume of the flower was captured by a modern technique where the flowers didn’t need to be cut and the flower petals didn’t need to be crushed. This is rather nice for the amaryllises in question.

What does Dolce smell of?

Dolce is a feminine, fresh perfume which reminds you of Sicily. Apart from white amaryllis you can also smell neroli, papaya, water lily, white daffodil and musk-like nuts. The packaging is also really pretty: a sturdy green bottle with a lid which reminds you of marzipan as you find it in traditional Sicilian confectionary shops. The bow reminds you of the early catwalk shows of Dolce&Gabbana and finally, the name Dolce has been written in the handwriting of Domenico Dolce’s father.
